“A creator needs only one enthusiast to justify him.” - Man Ray
Joshua Rosenthal started in the arts at a young age. Switching from pencil to camera at one point in his youth sparked something within.
While attending Brooks Institute of Photography he shot a great deal of editorial and sports. Setting up a company and starting to make sales, it seemed that he was attaining Friedlander’s “Trees and Forests”. But happiness was not found there.
“In photography, there is a reality so subtle that it becomes more real than reality.”– Alfred Stieglitz
It’s the nuance that interests him. The things that most people don’t see. The subtlety of a Robert Frank composition or Nan Goldin’s intimate moments. It is from this place that the human story evolves.
Welcome to the new journey.
